A properly prepared and poured driveway typically lasts 25 to 30 years or more. The biggest factors are the stone base underneath, the thickness of the slab, control joints, and sealing — shortcuts on any of those shorten the life.
Concrete can develop hairline cracks as it cures and the ground moves. Control joints are cut in on purpose to guide where that happens so it stays hidden and harmless. Proper base prep and thickness keep structural cracking away.
It needs the same base and care as any concrete, plus periodic re-sealing to protect the color and pattern. With sealer maintenance every couple of years, stamped concrete holds its look for a long time.
